Primary Description:
The First Grade Teacher is a key role as we build the foundation of the Cooperative School’s academic program and culture. The position requires a self-starter who is passionate about early childhood education and has the ability to design and implement engaging curriculum for young learners.
Status: Part-time Exempt (28 hours/week)
Department/Ministry: 214 – Cooperative School at Northland
Lines of Accountability: Director of Northland’s Early Learning Center
Salary: Starting at $36,400/year

- Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess student progress through both formal and informal assessments. Use data to adjust teaching strategies, provide additional support, and celebrate student successes.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn. Establish clear expectations and routines, while promoting respect, responsibility, and kindness.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, and staff to support the school's goals and contribute to the development of the school's culture.

Credentials (Educational & Professional Requirements):
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Required).
- Certification: Valid teaching certification in the State of Florida.
- Experience:
- Proven experience working with young children, preferably in a first-grade classroom setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
