live generously

The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 that the top competitor for our commitment to Jesus is money. Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. Not having cash or check on hand doesn’t have to hold you back from giving. You can be obedient today by giving online. There is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church!

Give Now

Contributions to the Raise the Roof campaign are made with the understanding that Northland Church has complete discretion and control over the use and allocation of all donated funds for the expressed purposes.

At Northland we have always left the giving decision between you and God. That is not to say we don’t teach the biblical principles of giving, stewardship, and generosity.

Matthew 6:21 says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (NIV). Our giving should be an act of worship to the Lord. As Christians, we are called to give. In fact, 2 Corinthians 8-9 lays out why giving is to be viewed as an act of worship.

  • If you are a follower of Jesus you should set the example in the grace of giving.
  • When you give, you are expressing the love you have for Jesus.
  • God loves willing and cheerful givers.
  • When you give your willingness to be generous is more important than the amount.
  • Our giving will result in praise and thanksgiving to God.
  • Giving is an act of obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ.
  • Our giving should be a natural response to the surpassing grace God has given you.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
– Luke 6:38 (NIV)

Stewardship Update

Budget for Fiscal (7/1/21-6/30/22) : $7.5M

As of 6/22/2022

Northlanders, we are in our last week of our “Raise the Roof” giving campaign.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been amazed and overwhelmed by the generosity of Northland. The stories of how people stepped up to give sacrificially and generously are beyond inspiring. We believe what we have witnessed in this giving campaign is a healthy sign of what is to come in other areas of Northland.

I’m sure most of you, if not all of you, are curious as to where we are—what we have received to date. I’ve decided to do something, which is extremely hard for me (if you don’t believe it, you can ask my wife). I’m going to keep both the “Raise the Roof” giving campaign and the general fund for the month of June a secret until next weekend.

Why are you keeping it a secret? I want us to finish out the giving campaign and our end-of-the-year fiscal giving by focusing on faithfulness. In other words, I want us all to focus on being obedient to what the Lord has put in our hearts to give—whether that is to the general fund, to “Raise the Roof,” or both.

I will say this, whatever the Lord puts in your heart to give, know that it will be above and beyond ☺!

I love you dearly, am so grateful for you, and I cannot wait to celebrate with you God’s faithfulness and our generosity next weekend!

Appreciated Stock or Property

There may be significant tax savings associated with donating appreciated property to the Church. If you are considering making a gift of stock or other appreciated property, consult with your tax advisor to determine whether donating the item or stock itself, as opposed to the proceeds from liquidation, might result in tax savings on your personal income tax return.

IRA's

If you’re 70-1/2 years or older, qualifying direct charitable IRA distributions made within prescribed limits count toward IRA distribution requirements and are excluded from taxable income.
