Rebecca and her family came to Northland in the summer of 2011 on the recommendation of a friend. They were previously attending a small local church but were looking for a place where they could connect at a deeper level into community, service and growth. Almost immediately, Rebecca began volunteering at the Welcome Desk and her knowledge and love for Northland grew. During her time here she has worked in several areas including the bookstore, volunteer mobilization and adult equipping.
Before coming to Northland, Rebecca worked for Gap Inc. traveling and working in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic area stores. After nearly 17 years, she felt God was calling her to resign, refocus and reorient her life around her role as wife and mother. It was a step of obedience and faith that led her to where she is now, working through several ministry areas to help new folks find their best next step toward healing, spiritual growth, and belonging here at Northland.
Serving is a family affair for the Lang Gang! Her husband Jeff plays guitar on both kids and main worship teams. Lola, her 16-year-old, is on the kids worship team and serves on the LUGRox production team and 13-year-old Max serves as a buddy with our Access Ministry during Saturday night services.
Jeff and Rebecca are both native Floridians (Go Gators!), have been married for 19 years and their family lives in Longwood.
About her role Rebecca says, “I want every person at Northland to feel welcome, cared for, loved and that this place is more than just their church. I want Northland to feel like family. It may sound cliché, and it’s certainly an audacious goal, but that’s what I believe God wants for us as we journey through this life together.”
