Jean is a grateful and growing believer in God’s lavish love. She has fun serving the Northland congregants and community by ensuring the entire Longwood campus, including three large buildings and three small buildings, are as welcoming, safe, and enjoyable as possible. With a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Miami, she had the awesome privilege of working for NASA with scientists from around the world on payloads flown in the space shuttle orbiters. After a wonderful time of focusing on being a full-time mom to her two dear sons, she returned to engineering at Sherwin-Williams and then Universal Orlando Resort, where she was responsible for improvements to the roller coasters’ performance. But none of this compares to her excitement and passion in spending most of her time working for God’s church, where she feels the most important things in the world are happening: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Mission. Jean thinks her experiences in the theme park/resort/hospitality industry prepared her for caring for the day-to-day operations of the church and managing the resources God provides through the people at Northland. Jean and her spouse Steve regularly visit her parents in New Smyrna Beach, where she grew up with her twin sister. They have attended services and classes at Northland since 2017. Her son Nathan serves the middle school students at Journey Christian Church in Apopka and studies Biology at UCF. Her son Jason is a youth pastor at Washington Shores Church of Christ in Orlando and studies Church Leadership and Pastoral Care and Counseling at Johnson University.
