Growing up the daughter of a pastor and worship director, serving in the church has been a life-long pursuit for Bethany. Over the years, she has served as a youth leader and children’s ministry coordinator. She and her family came to Northland in 2003, excited to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community. 

Bethany holds a master's degree in education from Concordia University and an undergraduate degree from Houghton College in psychology and education. She and her husband, Chris, have been married for more than 30 years and have two grown children, a son, Taylor, and a daughter, Emily. Having homeschooled Taylor and Emily from preschool through to high school graduation and wanting to encourage other homeschool families, Bethany continues to serve as an Emeritus Board Member of NearHim Home Educators.
