We Are on Mission With God!
Engaging people to be fully alive in Jesus
“‘She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’ … All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’”
As we purpose to reach people for Jesus, our missions engagement is focused on several key areas: evangelism and discipleship of children, youths and adults; Bible translations; church-planting growth and development; education, medical, compassion and social justice issues; and unreached people groups. Our short-term mission trips, missionary support, and church partners are three ways missions at Northland Church continue to fulfill the Great Commission.
We desire to engage with churches, mission agencies and organizations that align with our vision. We intentionally invite the body of Christ to be involved with us. Followers of Jesus obey His Word and do missions in these six ways: by learning, praying, mobilizing, welcoming, sending and going. Everyone can do some of these. Which one will you consider, and what will you do about it?
The Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course has energized folks in local churches to participate in what God is doing here, there and everywhere. The course has rocked their world and given them a heart for the nations. Praying and writing letters to missionaries are other practical ways our congregation is engaging with missionaries.
As British pastor and theologian John R.W. Stott said, “We must be global Christians with a global vision because our God is a global God.”

Coordinate a Perspectives Class
Have you completed Perspectives on the World Christian Movement and now wish to mobilize your church and community into God’s story? Then attend the Southeast Region Perspectives Coordinator Workshop, which casts vision for Perspectives as community-based mobilization and trains you to run a class as a certified Perspectives coordinator. The workshop is scheduled for Friday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, February 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Orlando. Attendance is required both days to be certified as a Perspectives coordinator.
Perspectives operates through team dynamics, so who do you know that you’d like to coordinate Perspectives? Bring them with you to the training to bolster their capacity.
Registration is required; the cost is $75 for workshop refreshers or $150 for workshop participants/coordinator team members. Meals and snacks are provided from lunch on Friday through lunch on Saturday. Details: Julia Kauffman or 321-356-1063.
