Jesus Goes Up to Heaven (May 4-6)
We worship Jesus as our Lord who was lifted up into heaven. He is there now blessing us and working with us to build His kingdom.
When you sit at home: Ages 3-Grade 2 read Luke 24:50-53. Grade 3 reads Luke 24:50-53; Mark 16:19-20. Grades 4-5 read Luke 24:50-53; Mark 16:19-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. 40 days after Jesus’ resurrection, He blessed His disciples and ascended to heaven. How did Jesus’ disciples respond to His resurrection? What would a blessing from Jesus mean to you if you were there?
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “Jesus is in heaven.”
When you walk along the road: Why is it important to worship Jesus?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord Jesus, thank You for blessing Your followers before going to heaven. Thank You for blessing us and showing us that You are in heaven. Amen.”
When you get up: Did you know the day Jesus ascended to heaven is a holiday called Ascension Day? This year it is May 30. How might you celebrate Ascension Day and worship Jesus for who He is and what He has done?
