Healing the Deaf and Mute Man (Mar 9-11)
We worship Jesus as the God of Healing. Sin separates our hearts from God. If we admit our sins and believe in Jesus as our Lord, He comes and heals our hearts, making us close with God forever.
This weekend, Grades 1-5 will receive a personal invitation to be close to God through receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. If you or your child would like to know more about how to receive eternal life, use the Children’s Guide for New Believers (downloadable here)for further discussion and prayer.
When you sit at home: Read Mark 7:32-37. What did Jesus do to heal the man? How did the people who brought the man respond?
When you walk along the road: In what other ways can Jesus heal us? (Jesus can heal us from sickness, loneliness, worrying, and from habits of sinning. Jesus can also heal our hearts from being separated from God.) Just as Jesus opened the ears of the man who couldn’t hear, He opens our hearts and minds to hear God’s Word.
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “He who has ears, let him hear.”
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for the ears and tongue you give us to hear from You and speak to You every day. Open our hearts and our minds to Your Word. Amen.”
When you get up: Choose a task or game that requires talking. Challenge each other to complete the task/game without speaking. Afterward, talk about how you felt about not being able to talk. How did it change the task/game?
