The Lord rewards every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness, for the Lord gave you into my hand today, and I would not put out my hand against the Lord's anointed. 24 Behold, as your life was precious this day in my sight, so may my life be precious in the sight of the Lord, and may he deliver me out of all tribulation.” 25 Then Saul said to David, “Blessed be you, my son David! You will do many things and will succeed in them.” So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
And Saul said to him, “Whose son are you, young man?” And David answered, “I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.”
May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.
As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house.

The song “Rise up” by Cain starts with this statement: “In the dark and all alone, growing comfortable, are you too scared to move and walk out of this tomb? Buried underneath, the lies that you believed safe and sound, stuck in the ground too lost to be found. You're just asleep and it's time to leave, come on and rise up, take a breath, you're alive now can't you hear the voice of Jesus calling us out from the grave like Lazarus.”
Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on all of us. By way of this pandemic we have seen more than a glimpse of what a dark world will look like. We can get caught up in all the news and quickly lose hope. Never have any of us experienced the effects fear plays on our family, friends, neighbors or complete strangers like we have over the past year. We have been separated from those we care about, those we hang around, and those who help build us up.
But Cain continues in this song singing, “When He said your name, the thing that filled your veins was more than blood, it's the kind of love that washes sin away. Now the door is open wide and the stones been rolled aside the old is gone, the Light has come, so come on and rise up, take a breath, you're alive now can't you hear the voice of Jesus calling us out from the grave like Lazarus”
Fellow believers and those wondering if you should believe; the time to RISE UP and follow Jesus is NOW! He will cast out all fear. He will comfort and strengthen us. He will give us rest. He is our provider. He will Light the way. He is our strength, our rock, our salvation!
I Peter 5:7 TLB says “Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you”. If you have never asked Jesus into your life, say this simple but life changing prayer: “Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I need you. I believe you are the Son of God sent to die on the cross for the sins of the world, even my sins. You rose from the tomb and conquered death. Please forgive me. I believe in you and ask you to come into my life and make me new. I give my heart and life to you. I want to trust and follow you. Thank you for saving me today.”
If you prayed that prayer, tell somebody, share this great moment! Get plugged in with others who have given their life to Jesus.
