26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~ Phhillippians 4:7 NLT
Throughout the pandemic, we have witnessed your outpouring of generosity in so many incredible ways. As December kicked off, you showed your generosity even more. In this week’s edition of the Stewardship Update, we will hold those generosity moments to the end and ask you to take time to review the Northland Tithes and Offerings Need chart shown below. This chart shows both need by month (the top section) as well as your generosity (the bottom section). The middle yellow arrow signifies where Northland should be based on historical trends applied to our current needs.
At Northland, like nearly all churches in America, the gifts that drive our ministry occur all year long, but as you can see below, December by itself represents 18% of our annual need and just over 34% of the need for these first six months. That is exactly why we moved our Fiscal (financial) Year from one following the calendar year to one starting on July 1 and ending on June 30. This move enables us to know where we stand in relation to our budget and plans as we enter the final six months of our Fiscal Year. This is simply the good stewardship of your generosity you would want us to demonstrate. Not spending first, but spending accordingly. Take a look at how your giving by month compares to our need allocated across each month.
Generosity moment number 1: We have seen a tremendous outpouring to start December. You now have Northland on pace to be 96.4% funded by the end of the calendar year. This is up from 91.4% at the end of November.
Generosity moment number 2: Giving Tuesday we asked you to help support 121Hope, our anti-human trafficking ministry. We were looking for $25,000, but God touched so many of you, and this incredible ministry has been blessed with $60,588.10.
Generosity moment number 3: Christmas House has become a key outreach ministry here at Northland. You always come through by donating toys, clothes, bikes, and more so that we can open Christmas House to those in our community in real need. Giving them a Christmas they would never have had. This year you donated more gift items than ever before. But that’s not all; you added $14,873.61 for others to shop for just the right additional items.
These are just three generous moments out of thousands you help make happen every day. As your church, Northland will continue to work with all our effort to bring the saving grace of Jesus to people everywhere. God Bless you Northland, as you are people who recognize we can accomplish a great deal for the Lord as individuals, but when we join together, the potential is beyond our dreams.
