March in Children’s Ministries
Volunteer of the Month
Children’s Ministries would like to congratulate Ginny Vandestreek on being recognized as our outstanding Volunteer of the Month! She is one of the wonderful smiling faces that greet our families when they check in for Children’s Church. Ginny is always willing to help and is gifted in making people feel welcome. We are so blessed to have her on our team. Thank you, Ginny, for your faithful service!
Why did you draw that?
This week we learned about Jesus’ ascension. That was when He went up into heaven. We learned He promised us the Holy Spirit, which will help us our whole lives.
How do you explain Lent to kids?
Our new family devotional, “The Seven Stars of Lent,” offers some help. Seven short weekly devotionals offer simple suggestions for preparing your heart for Easter. Check it out on the Children’s Ministries mobile app (see below) or on the Northland website.
Moon Rabbit Watch Party
(for preschool and grade school children)
Thursday, March 29, 5:30 to 8 p.m., Children’s Worship Wing.
How do you explain to your child the significance of Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection? What do you tell him or her about the Easter bunny? Through the reading of an exciting adventure story, “The Bunny Side of Easter,” author Linda Rooks will use the story of the Easter bunny to lead children into a heartfelt appreciation of the true Easter story and what Jesus did for them on the cross. Come with your child to help him or her learn about the true meaning of Easter and the greatest hero of all through an evening of fun activities that include looking for the rabbit in the moon, a book reading about where the Easter bunny came from, Easter crafts and face painting. Each child who attends the reading will receive a balloon, a puppet and treats for free. Pizza will be available for $1 per slice. For more info, visit bunnysideofeaster.com. Details: Debbie Blahnik at 407-949-7162 or email@example.com.
Do you have a fifth-grader in your home?
LUG Connect (Grade 5)
Fourth Saturday of every month through May 26, Children’s Worship Wing.
Northland’s Student Ministries and Children’s Ministries together want to help you and your child navigate through the transition from elementary to middle school with a fun and relational program called JumpStart! Students will get to know other fifth-graders and meet their future Student Ministries leaders. Parents will have a chance to connect other families, ask questions about Student Ministries’ programs, and ultimately become better equipped to continue to disciple your student.
Questions? Lindsay Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
