Families at All Skate Weekend
Remember the ‘all skate,’ when everyone at the roller skating rink got on the floor to skate? This weekend is All Skate Weekend at Northland! We want to encourage everyone to get “on the floor,” serving our community and celebrating the amazing things God is doing. Learn more about All Skate on the Northland website. As part of our All Skate Weekend, there will be no children's church for ages 4 and older and we will all be in the sanctuary as we worship God together. We hope you’ll worship with us on Saturday at 5 p.m. or Sunday at 9 or 11 a.m. Please note: There will be no Monday night service this weekend.
When you sit at home: This weekend, families will hear Pastor Matt speak on Philippians 4:4-9.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
When you walk along the road: What part of Philippians 4:4-9 is most difficult for you. What can your family do to encourage you in that area?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank you, Lord, for Your goodness. Guard our hearts and minds with Your Holy Spirit and help us to trust You with our worries and concerns. Amen.”
When you get up: This weekend, we’re challenging families to serve and worship together. What can your family do together to be the church in our community?
"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:6-7
