Daniel & Malachi (Nov 24-26)
We worship the God who is Lord of all. That means He is the one in control of everything in heaven and on the earth. He is the Lord who gives us every good thing!
When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Daniel 7:1, 13-14. Who did Daniel see coming with the clouds? Jesus was coming back to earth from heaven. Who was worshiping Jesus in Daniel’s dream? All the people in the world showed Jesus they loved Him.
Grades 1-2 read Malachi 2:2; 3:7-10 and Grades 3-5 read Malachi 2:2; 3:1, 7-10. This is our last lesson on the prophets! What was the warning, the choice, and the promise God gave to people through Malachi?
When you walk along the road: One way we can worship God is by using our time, talents, and money to honor Him. God doesn’t ask us to do this because He needs our help. According to Matthew 6:21, 24, why does God want us to give back from what He’s given us? How can giving what you have to God help you to keep Him first in your heart?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for _____. Everything we have is Yours. May we use the time, talents, and money You have given us to worship and honor You. Amen.”
When you get up: Next Sunday begins Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas. Advent means “coming.” During this time, we remember how Jesus came to earth. God sent His Son for us. Over the next four Sundays, we will be posting an Advent devotional. In preparation, if you have a nativity set or an Advent wreath, find a special place for them where your family can gather to read scripture, talk about the first Christmas, and light the Advent candle.
Advent Photo Challenge: During the four weeks of advent, we’ll be posting a daily challenge for you on Facebook! Included with the challenge will be a scripture and word of the day. Read the scripture with family and friends and take a photo of something related to the word or scripture. Share your photo on that day’s Northland Children’s Facebook post or on your social media using #northlandadvent.
