Costa Rica Comes to Northland!

Olivia Blase

This past weekend, Maria José Calderon, one of our summer interns, shared at each of the services about her church in San José, Costa Rica. Located near the Red Light District, the church uses its facilities and resources to serve as an education center for people looking to improve their life situation. They complement sharing the love of Jesus with offering the practical training and job opportunities that help the homeless, sex workers and others in the community to live an abundant life.

Some of the outreach that Centro Desarrollo Integral (CDI) works through is a piñata factory and a coffee shop that offer employment opportunities, as well as a drop-in center for sex workers called La Sala.

To learn more about this ministry and donate, visit their website! And if you see Maria around Northland, be sure to stop her and hear more.
