Christmas Here and There

Northland Church

It is only October, but Christmas is right around the corner! We are so excited for the two opportunities we have here at Northland to serve our community both locally and globally. Here’s how you can help:

THERE: PACK A SHOEBOX FOR UGANDA.

We want to bless our partner church in Uganda with Christmas gifts for 400 students (ages 3-16)! Our partner, Pastor Robert, started The Miracle Destiny School where shoeboxes will be hand delivered by Robert and his team. Pastor Robert has blessed Northland with many visits, superb hospitality for our teams, and ongoing encouragement and prayer. Will you join us in showing his community love from all the way across the ocean? Here’s where we need your help:

  1. Get a shoebox.
  2. Fill it up.
    • Shop for items like pencils, pens, socks, t-shirts, coloring books, erasers, shoes, underwear, books, games, a personal note, a picture of your family, etc.

    • Mark on top of the box the age group (preschool, grade school, or teen) and gender.

    • Consider giving a $5 ot $10 donation for shipping costs.

  3. Drop it off in any of the children’s wings at Longwood by November 26th.
  4. Help sort and pack boxes on November 26th at 12:30 p.m. Sign up here!

HERE: BRING TOYS FOR CHRISTMAS HOUSE.

We are so excited to be doing our third annual Christmas House at Northland! Christmas House is an outreach opportunity that provides a fun and festive shopping experience for parents facing financial challenges, allowing them to purchase gifts for their children at a small fee. This event is not possible without your outpouring of gifts and time. This year we hope to serve even more families than we did last year (80 families and 225 children)! These families are our neighbors, and as the Christmas season comes upon us, we want to love our neighbors by helping them bring joy to their children’s Christmas mornings. There are three ways you can help with this:

  1. Give gifts. Grab an information card from the Christmas House display in the Longwood foyer beginning November 18th. Drop them off in the foyer before December 8.
  2. Give your time. We need help on December 11th and 12th. Sign up here!
  3. Receive help. Sign up before November 10th.
