Maria M. Penzes oversees the Family Advocacy Office program and VISTAs at Northland which, advocates for Seminole County homeless families with school age children, as well manages Resource Point, a community collaboration and coordination tool serving the needs of families and individuals in the midst of life change and crisis. Maria also serves as a facilitator for Moral Reconation Therapy with the HAT Ministry. Prior to moving to Florida from New Jersey in 2002, Maria held a leadership position in a Children’s AWANA ministry for eight years as well as led many small group studies. She also was a telecommunication and financial information technologies manager for more than 23 years, and holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Maria says she was drawn to Northland by “the unique worship environment, diversity of programs and classes offered, the multitude of connections to serve others and the biblical principles that are walked out in the mission, vision and core values of Northland.”
