Dr. Hunter preaches from John 10:9 on the parallel worlds that exist around us. He describes Christ as the door to those adjoining worlds, one through whom we can pass many times a day to enter into a different life, a different love, and a different impact on those around us.
One of the reasons that Jesus came, according to Luke 4, was to set the captives free. Our culture has attractions. As a result, a whole lot of us are enslaved to our appetites and our Imaginings—everything from substance abuse, to food, to sexual addiction, to fear ... we go right back to it, we don’t feel normal without it, and it preoccupies our day so much that we cannot function as we were meant to function.
Christ sets us free from bondage. There are all kinds of appetites and habits that falsely govern our lives, and it’s time to be set free.
