Buddy Break is a FREE respite program designed to give caregivers of kids with special needs a break from their ongoing care-giving responsibilities. Operated as part of Nathaniel’s Hope, kids ages 2-16 who have a physical, cognitive, medical or hidden disability, or a chronic or life-threatening illness are known as “VIP kids.” Each VIP kid at a Buddy Break is paired up with a “Buddy” for one-on-one attention. Buddies are friends who are at least 14 years of age, have completed a two-hour training program and have had a background check. Everyone has fun playing games, hearing and seeing great Bible stories come to life, enjoying music and more while giving the caregivers a much needed break. Siblings have fun, too!
