NORTHLAND DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM TRAINING has scheduled a training session to be conducted by Scott Spratt, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2010, FROM 6:30 P.M. TO 8:30 P.M. in ROOMS 4213-15-17. LIMITED TO 80 PARTICIPANTS. SKYWARN is a program developed and taught by National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists and consists of trained weather spotters who report severe and hazardous weather to help in the weather warning process. SKYWARN Spotter reports provide vital “ground truth” to the NWS. The reports serve the NWS mission of protecting life and property in three ways: assists with present and future warning decisions, confirms hazardous weather detected by NWS radar, and provides verification information which can be used for future research and warning improvement efforts. SKYWARN is a volunteer public service for those 18 years or older. Person’s younger than 18 are encouraged to attend a training session to learn about the dangers of weather, however, they will not generally be awarded Spotter certificates.
Time: 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
Join us at this time each week at Longwood and online. Each week’s service is unique and themed around an attribute of God’s nature (i.e. His mercy, goodness, grace, etc.). The preaching is biblical, applicable and winsome. And the music is a mix of contemporary worship and beloved hymns—blending the foundational and the modern. It’s what Robert Webber called “ancient future” worship — “the common tradition of the church’s worship in Word, Table, and song, practiced faithfully and communicated clearly in every context of the world.” Woven together are the historical creeds of the faith and time-honored practices of the church, with new, innovative tools and modern expressions of worship.
