Haiti Update: Northland Disaster Responder Emily Tallman

From Disaster Response | News and Inspiration written by Emily Taliman on Feb 15, 2010

We arrived very late Friday evening due to weather delays in Miami. This morning, the entrie ACTS team gathered for a morning briefing and devotions—then off to our mission. We went to a refugee camp and set up a mobile clinic with around 10 stations to provide medical and mental-health services. We stayed until all were treated. Elderly, youth, moms with infants and newborns, pregnant moms and many other people with amazing stories were served. Our tents all arrived, they are comfortable and roomy. We are hoping for a good night sleep tonight ... the roosters decided to wake us at 3 a.m. last night. The team has really bonded—we are working well together and are looking forward to our mission tomorrow.

You are truly an angel of God there in serving His children!  May you each be protected and blessed for all your generosity~  Prayers are being said on your behalf.

What a lovely picture Emily.  You are certainly loved here and I can see you are loved there too.  You are a very special young lady and Dad and I are very proud of how the Lord is using you there to reach out to others and show God’s love through your deeds and care for these hurting people.  Love and Prayers, Mom and Dad

I think that it was really neat that you were able to be with us for on line worship yesterday morning. All of you are in our prayers, that you may accomplish all that you desire and at the same time, stay safe. :)+
