Serve by helping to plant native shoreline vegetation which will improve the Springwood Waterway and learn about what creates a healthy ecosystem! We will work with biologists in ankle to waist deep water to install aquatic plants by hand. Each plant we put in will act like a sponge to filter pollution runoff, prevent shoreline erosion, and provide habitat for wildlife. All plants and tools are provided. Please wear yard gloves, hat, sunscreen, old clothes and closed-toed shoes that you don't mind getting muddy/wet. We'll work hard, have fun, get muddy and wet, and give back at the same time! This is a GREAT project for families and those with younger children. Children of all ages are welcome but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Reformed Theological Seminary (Northland's OVIEDO campus) at 8 a.m. for check-in and breakfast. Teams will be distributed to work sites shortly after. Mission Interact is a local organization that involves middle and high school students in serving the neighborhoods and school districts of the students so that they can forge strong bonds with fellow Christians. Also, they focus on fostering a heart for global missions by exposing students to those hurting and in need locally. Serve with Mission Interact on July 14 by helping to prep several homes in the Johnsonhill-Washington Heights area of Oviedo. These homes will later be painted by middle and high school students serving with Mission Interact this summer. We will serve by helping to pressure wash and remove/strip old paint from outside of homes as well as clear brush and other items away from the sides of the houses in preparation for painting. You must be AT LEAST 12 YEARS OLD to sign up for this project and those children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Reformed Theological Seminary (Northland's OVIEDO campus) at 8 a.m. for check-in and breakfast. Join us for worship at Longwood or online. Each week's service is unique and themed around an attribute of God's nature (i.e. His mercy, goodness, grace, etc.). The preaching is biblical, applicable and winsome. And the music is a mix of contemporary worship and beloved hymns — blending the foundational and the modern. It's what Robert Webber called "ancient future" worship, "the common tradition of the church's worship in Word, Table, and song, practiced faithfully and communicated clearly in every context of the world." Woven together are the historical creeds of the faith and time-honored practices of the church, with new, innovative tools and modern expressions of worship. Join the gathering! Worship Times: Saturdays at 5 p.m. EST / Longwood and online Sundays at 9 a.m. EST / Longwood, Mount Dora, Oviedo and online Sundays at 11 a.m. EST / Longwood, Mount Dora, Oviedo and online Sundays at 5 p.m. EST / Longwood and online Mondays at 7 p.m. EST / Longwood and online
