Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection to Hold Hearing June 12

Written by: Robert Andrescik in News and Inspiration on May 30, 2012

One of the privileges we have as a church is getting to host events that benefit our community. One such event is coming up on June 12. That day, at the direct request of the Governor's office, the Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection will gather at Northland for a public hearing to discuss Florida Statute Chapter 776 (also known as the stand-your-ground law).

The purpose of the Task Force is to thoroughly review Florida Statute Chapter 776 and any other laws, rules, regulations or programs that relate to public safety and citizen protection. Chaired by Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll, the Task Force will make any necessary recommendations to the Governor and Legislature to improve public safety in Florida.

The general public is encouraged to attend. For more information about the hearing and the Task Force, visit http://www.flgov.com/citizensafety/.
