We had our second of three Worship and Prayer gatherings at RTS this past Saturday. With our last gathering focused on the hearts and minds of our congregation being turned to the Lord completely, this time we came together to pray for the response of that action: being Christians who live lives of service to God and others. We prayed over our local ministry partners, all the serving teams on Sunday and the upcoming Local Serve Day that is being hosted in Oviedo at RTS Saturday, July 14. It was a sweet time of worship and prayer as a community! A quote I read from Pastor Bryan Chapell that really captures the essence of our time was this, "Jesus does not nullify the value of duty in order to dissuade us from serving God, but to keep us from depending on duty to gain God's acceptance. When we understand that our works in themselves earn us no merit with God, then the only reason to do those works is LOVE for Him. Thus we learn to serve God not for personal gain but for His glory-not for love of self but for love of the Savior."

We hope you will join us for our next Worship and Prayer gathering on Saturday, August 11 from 12-2 p.m. at RTS inside the Fellowship Hall. THis one will be a little different in that everyone interested in being a part of the Fall Community Life here at Northland Oviedo is invited, kids and all. We will have a Potluck lunch, some time of worship, prayer and a look at the Small Groups, Classes and other Gatherings coming this fall. Please mark your calendars and BE A PART OF IT with US for HIM!!!
