We're heading to North Florida to help rebuild a church that saw significant flooding from Tropical Storm Debby. Melody Christian Center is a 250-person congregation located in Live Oak, about three hours north of Orlando. The church does not qualify for assistance through FEMA, and they have no flood insurance.
Despite this hardship, the folks at Melody Christian have not stopped serving their community! They have been serving meals out of their homes and assisting people in need, and we can lend a helping hand. What an amazing opportunity to serve those who are serving!
We'll be taking the new mobile kitchen on its maiden voyage, so we're looking for folks who've participated in our food handler training. Not to mention we need help with cleanup and construction. Want to help? Click to learn more.
This clip from NBC News that shows just how devastating the storm was.
