Savior Needed (Issue 10-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy M Jobson on Mar 10, 2010

I am encouraged by the words so many have shared with me these past few weeks in response to the sermon I preached, well maybe better said, read to all of you.  If you were not there feel free to check it out online as a streaming video.  I have been most encouraged by the response to the conviction that comes from hearing the Sermon on the Mount in its entirety.  It is pretty intense, direct and tough stuff to hear but it was what Christ said.  Without explanation in → MORE...

My Inmost Being (Issue 9-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy M Jobson on Mar 10, 2010

We continue to move through the Lenten Season, renewing our hearts, souls and mind on our way toward the cross and celebration that is the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am compelled by the Lenten Reader, the recent Ash Wednesday service and the ongoing Group Study interactions around this concept of the 2 Stories in Scripture: that of Adam and that of Christ.  I can not help but think and pray about the many conversations that are shaping week in and week out using the materials → MORE...

Facebook Worship: Official Launch This Sunday

From Local Sites | Online | Media and Technology | News and Inspiration written by Robert Andrescik on Mar 10, 2010

If Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest in the world behind China (1.33 billion) and India (1.17 billion), and followed by the U.S. (307 million). Now, a new church is being planted in the “nation” of Facebook, bringing live worship to its 400 million-plus residents. On Sunday morning, Northland will officially open the doors to its new Facebook app, which will allow worshipers to invite their Facebook friends to go to church with them—without leaving the familiar Facebook environment. Plus, even when live worship isn't happening, → MORE...

What’s your favorite Psalm?

From Local Sites | Online written by Nathan Clark on Feb 9, 2010

Today marks the 40th day of writing out the Psalms by hand. The other day my wife, Jenn, and I were discussing our experience and she told me how much she particularly loved Psalm 30, when David wrote: All you saints! Sing your hearts out to God!       Thank him to his face!    He gets angry once in a while, but across       a lifetime there is only love.    The nights of crying your eyes out       give way to days of laughter.  Of the Psalms we've written, it was Jenn's favorite. She found it encouraging to read David → MORE...

PREPARATION (Issue 6-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy Jobson on Feb 3, 2010

Alright this article is a bit self serving.  Since I am preaching next weekend I thought I would get the juices flowing in all of us ahead of time.  Today’s article is simply a collection of verses that we will be talking about next week, honestly that we have been talking about for a couple of years: in conversations, articles, blogs, groups, classes, etc.  See I figure if you are anything like me, I NEED to hear truth over and over and over.  The more I hear it, the better → MORE...

Family (Issue 4-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy Jobson on Feb 3, 2010

This is a tough word for some and a comforting word for others, but as Pastor Joel has been sharing with us, it is none the less a reality for all of us who have been brought into relationship with God the Father, through Christ His Son;  adopted heirs and children of the King.  No matter what the word ‘family’ represents to us here on earth, good or bad, it is also a heavenly term that is only good.  A ‘heavenly’ family is one that God brings the Kingdom of → MORE...

Last weekend’s prayer

From Local Sites | Online written by Aaron Martin on Jan 28, 2010

Last weekend we closed our worship services with a congregational prayer of confession and commitment. Through emails, tweets and Facebook messages, many of you asked for copies of that prayer, so here it is. I would encourage you to keep this as your prayer throughout the week.   Creator God, we acknowledge You as the One who formed each of us in our mother’s womb.  Every human being has been fearfully and wonderfully made, created in Your image. O Lord, we have no excuse for treating with contempt those You → MORE...

Physics and Families (Issue 5-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy Jobson on Jan 27, 2010

Pastor Joel’s 10 year series is forcing us to think about the statement in the Lord’s prayer, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is In heaven”.  This series has honed in on one way we can go about doing exactly that.  In Eph 3:15 Paul states that ‘every family in heaven and on earth derive their name from the Father’, so how do we go about becoming heavenly families, ushering in His will, here on earth as it is in heaven?   The structure of family, → MORE...

The Funnel (Issue 3-2010)

From Local Sites | Oviedo written by Jeremy Jobson on Jan 20, 2010

We are being reminded all year long about our status in the Kingdom of God, which is incredibly important if we are to be about the King, and His work.  In this 10 year journey the words from the Lords Prayer, “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven” are our marching orders.  But they can only be marching orders for us because of WHO we are, because of WHAT Christ did.  Because of His sacrifice, we are adopted heirs, children of the King.  → MORE...

A quick look back at online worship in 2009

From Local Sites | Online written by Nathan Clark on Jan 7, 2010

In 2009 we had people join us for worship from 10,103 locations around the world. The above maps show where those worshipers were located in cities around the world, or with more detail around the US. Some of those locations represent individual congregants, some indicate families who worship together, some show house churches and some show simple churches. All represent people gathering for worship at our website after logging in. (We don't have hard numbers for iPhone worship, or for the "worship anonymously" option.)  For every one of those stars, there are → MORE...
