We are looking for people interested in helping the children of Haiti who live in the orphanages and are located within the hospitals. We want to create a long-lasting, economical and environmentally friendly cloth diaper alternative solution to the less friendly costly disposable diapers. We arrived very late Friday evening due to weather delays in Miami. This morning, the entrie ACTS team gathered for a morning briefing and devotions—then off to our mission. We went to a refugee camp and set up a mobile clinic with around 10 stations to provide medical and mental-health services. We stayed until all were treated. Please register if you are interested in traveling to Haiti, February 13 through 20. We will be sending multiple teams in the weeks to come. The Northland Disaster Response Team has been blessed with another training opportunity. On Monday evening, February 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Scott Spratt, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service, will present the SKYWARN Weather Spotter training at Northland in Longwood, in Rooms 4213-15-17. SKYWARN is a program developed and taught by National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists and consists of trained weather spotters who report severe and hazardous weather to help in the weather warning process. Northland's Disaster Response Team is serving at Adventist Hospital in the city of Diquini. Good morning ... we had a good day on Thursday. New volunteers to the hospital are settling in, others going full throttle. The nurses are working hard.
