We were recently blessed by the preaching from Elder Fayez through one of our partner church relationships in Egypt. What an amazing message and time we had talking about how we can respond right here, right now. We talked about many gatherings throughout the Oviedo community this fall, studying Gods Word in a unique way that connects the each other, God and the church around the world, like Qasr El Dobar in Egypt. Its called Secret Church. Let me explain what this is and why we are encouraging everyone in...

Northland Students and the Rapha House from Northland Media Design on Vimeo. The work of Rapha House against the traumatic effects of slavery is work that reflects the very heart of God. His Word tells us that people are worth more than the services they provide, that life is worth more than money. Because of the blood of Jesus, every life has intrinsic value, which has nothing to do with his or her net worth. All human life has equal value, “for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28, NASB). Yet,...

The Celebrate Recovery Team is delighted to share that we have now topped the 100 mark in attendance! The attendance at this 12-step program has been steadily growing, and this past Friday, we topped out at 106. We are about to outgrow the room. What a fantastic problem to have! Thanks to everyone who has helped to make this ministry available to people with “hurts, habits and hangups” within our community. The volunteer leadership team for this ministry is putting all they have into making Celebrate Recovery a welcoming place...

As we continue to unpack what it means to love God and others, I am struck by the power of Hospitality. In one sense a gesture of love to others and in another sense a great picture of response by us to Him by being obedient to who He told us to be known as, men and women of love, and all that only possible because He loved us first! We have had a team of people come together recently to think about the gift of Hospitality led by our...

It was one of those husband-and-wife spats – you know, the kind that start out as a simple disagreement and then get heated. The wife was a teacher and had developed a tone and volume that could control a class of 30. The husband was an attorney, well-versed in how to argue and set a trap with leading questions. As the discussion grew into an argument, each side used his or her best skills to “win” the debate. As things were getting rough, the wife excused herself to use the...

Terri Goulette, Saints fan and Northland online worshiper We are rapidly approaching the time of year when Northland has its annual church-wide backpack drive. Every year the congregation comes together and donates thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies for local kids in need. This year, in addition to contributing to our local partners, we will be working with one of our online worshipers in Louisiana: Terri Goulette. Terri lives in Houma, which has been affected tremendously by the recent oil spill. Seeing the need in her own community, she...
