Every summer, Children's Ministries converts the large group worship room at Longwood into an "outdoor" camp environment called Camp Venture. With camp games, secret camp handshakes and a chance to worship around the "camp fire" — our first through fifth-graders learn biblical lessons in a fun, engaging environment.
Camp is in session as of THIS weekend! For the next 10 weeks, your kids will be riding the rails on an old train called “The Safari Express" and sharing the letters of the New Testament with a new friend, inventor and engineer, Jasper J. Johnson, Jr. and his trusty sidekick, Watson. The worship room has been transformed to resemble a turn of the century Pullman-style steam engine train — "steampunked" to speed the godly messages to all of our "campers" in a whimsical fashion. Check it out:
The camp intro video is a sneak peek into how our kids will be learning a whole lot of the Bible in a VERY COOL way this summer. So, as we fuel up "The Safari Express" and get set to make tracks toward Camp Venture, we hope YOU and your kids are planning to climb aboard! See you there.
